"A sheen has been reported,... STAY TUNED"
No thanks, it's bad enough to get guesswork from the "real" media without having to get it here as well. Get the facts right, then I MIGHT stay tuned.

Thank God that everyone is accounted for and not seriously hurt. And of course the Speculators will be all over this like flies on crap!! They will use this accident as an excuse to raise prices like they always do.

Luckily this isn't a drilling rig, nor is it in deep water, so since everyone survived the explosion this really should have an effect one way or another on prices.

While another offshore fire/explosion is definitely not what we need right now. I'm glad that nobody was seriously injured, and that it looks like there is no oil leaking.

Oh Beautiful for smoggy skies, insecticided grain, For strip-mined mountain's majesty above the asphalt plain. America, America, man sheds his waste on thee, And hides the pines with billboard signs, from sea to oily sea.

Oh, I guess thats why gas went up 26 cents today. And here all along I thought it was because of the holiday weekend. What a lame excuse for the gougers.

What are the odds we would have 2 explosions in the gulf in the same year when we didn't have one for fifty years? If the police had 2 homicides in the same place, in the same year, they might say they could be connected in some way, and would deem an investigation is needed to clarify who was involved in one or both, just to be on the safe side.

You knew it had to happen, at least it wasn't BP this time. Once again I ask where was the government oversight. After the BP accident you would have thought they would be on top of things, but NO!

I heard on the news tonight that there are on average about 100 fires and explosions on offshore rigs each year world wide.
However, most do not force the workers to jump into the sea, as this one did.

Oil rig accidents aren't usually considered national news, but thanks to the Deepwater Horizon mess (which also wasn't an oil rig) people started caring. Oil rig workers are usually paid quite well just because their work is considered hazardous.
